FAQ

Questions about getting started?

We’ve answered the ones we hear most from short-term rental hosts.

  • Guests notice the difference between a place that’s simply furnished and one that’s thoughtfully designed. We design for comfort, flow, and memorable details that make guests want to rebook and recommend your property.

The result? Higher satisfaction, stronger reviews, and a property that stands out in a competitive market.

  • STR design is strategy-driven. We design for your target guests – what they’ll notice in photos, how comfortably they’ll stay, and what details will earn you glowing reviews.

That means optimizing layouts to maximize sleeping capacity, choosing durable finishes that withstand turnover, strategic branding touches, and investing only where it increases ROI.

  • Our STR design projects are priced by room, and will vary based on the type and use of each room. Once we know more about your project, we’ll provide you with a custom quote.

  • We will need a simple floor plan to understand the layout and scale of your project in order to provide you with an accurate quote. No need for exact measurements at this stage, so feel free to draw your own floor plan! Get started by contacting us.

  • We can! But we also make it very easy to do it yourself. We’ll provide a complete, clickable shopping list with every item sourced for your project.

  • Yes, we work with STR installers who get properties set up and ready for guests in 7 days or less. They install with designer-level execution and look for opportunities to style your decor. However, our documentation is extremely detailed, with floor plans and styling notes so you can confidently recreate the design without guessing if you prefer to do it yourself.

  • This will depend on several factors, including the size of your property and your target guest profile. We’ve worked with a wide range of budgets, from lean refreshes to premium turnkey designs, and can recommend where to splurge and where to save once we understand your goals.

A general rule of thumb you can use is $10K x the number of bedrooms, or $20-30/square foot.

  • Yes, we regularly collaborate with contractors and trades to select finishes, fixtures, and materials that fit your design vision and work well for short-term rentals.
